About the Department :
The Department of Mathematics at Salbari College was inaugurated in the academic session of 2023-24. This establishment was part of a broader initiative to expand the Science Stream at the college, supported by the Government of Assam.
The Department follows the curriculum of the Four-Year Undergraduate Program (FYUGP) as outlined by Bodoland University, in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This comprehensive program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in Mathematical theories, applications, and problem-solving techniques.

Mission and Vision :
The Department of Mathematics of Salbari College was established to make higher education in Mathematics accessible to students from remote areas. The Department of Mathematics at Salbari College is committed to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of Mathematical principles among our students. The Department of Mathematics aim to cultivate critical thinking skills and Mathematical fluency that will empower our graduates to excel in various professional fields and contribute meaningfully to society.

Faculty :
The Department is currently running by three Assistant Professors. Each faculty members are passionate educators and active researchers with expertise in diverse areas of Mathematics, including Graph Theory, Algebra, Graphs on Algebra, Spectral Graph Theory, Linear Algebra, Cosmology, Relativity, Astronomy and Astrophysics. They are committed to providing high-quality instruction and personalized guidance to help students to reach their full potential.

Facilities and Resources :
i. Classrooms and Laboratories :
The department is equipped with modern classrooms and computer laboratories, providing students with the necessary tools and technology to enhance their learning experience.
ii. Library :
A well-stocked Departmental Library & Knowledge Resource Centre with a wide range of books, journals, and digital resources in Mathematics and related fields is available to support students and faculty in their academic endeavors.

Workshops and Seminars :
Regular workshops, seminars, guest lectures and invited talk are organized to expose students to the latest developments in Mathematics and related disciplines, facilitating a broader understanding of the subject.

Community Engagement :
The Department is actively involved in community outreach programs aimed at promoting Mathematical education and awareness. This includes organizing free coaching classes, Mathematics competitions, and awareness campaigns in local schools and communities.

Future Goals :
Looking ahead, the Department of Mathematics aims to expand its faculty strength, enhance research opportunities, and develop collaborations with other academic institutions and industries. These efforts are geared towards creating a vibrant academic environment that nurtures the intellectual growth and career prospects of its students.
