With an inaugural enrolment of 44 major students and 18 minor students our department boasts the highest enrolment in the entire Science Stream.
This department strives for excellence in all the areas of teaching and developing a holistic personality of the students. This is achieved with the help of well-established faculty and support staff. The faculty consists of two permanent highly qualified and co-operative members. We also have four co-operative and well trained laboratory bearers. Our labs are well equipped for smooth conduct of practical sessions.
Currently, the department is offering a four years Undergraduate Program (Major and Honors) under Bodoland University following the NEP 2020 guidelines. These courses have a multidisciplinary approach in areas of Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Biostatistics and Bioinstrumentation. With widespread incorporation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in academics, the department of Zoology is encouraging its students and teachers to access and utilize these developing technologies like smart classroom, online classes and google classroom. We in this department believe in all round development of students and encourage them to participate in both academic and extra-curricular activities. Here, in this department, a fertile ground is laid down where the students can bloom. The department is focused on providing quality higher education to the students of the under-developed and rural areas of Salbari region.
