Welcome to the Salbari College, Salbari

Salbari College was established on 14th of November in 1983 by the conscious educationists and guardians of the locality with mere public donations amidst their poor socio-economic conditions prevailing at that time. They took the bold step of starting the first ever Higher Educational Institute of the area for the benefits of the poor aspiring students of Greater Salbari area. They named it Salbari College for establishing the name of Salbari area in the Educational Map of Assam through its contribution to the Education field. The College offers Three Year Degree course in Arts following the syllabus and curriculum of Gauhati University. The beautiful campus of Salbari College is spread over 38 Bighas of land. The College has earned a remarkable reputation in teaching humanities over the past few Years. It is affiliated to Gauhati University and registered under 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC act 1956 Vide No. 8-371/2006(CPP-I) and obtained Govt. concurrence. The college has gloriously completed 3 decades since its inception and has developed computing facility, Internet connectivity, a dedicated power supply system and a relatively small but rich library housing a gigantic collection of books and journals etc. The College has been brought under the purview of provincialization in 2013 under "Assam Venture Education Institute Provincialization (Provincialization of Service) Act. 2011 and 2012 as amended.

The College is located at Salbari which is in the heart of Salbari Sub-Division in the District of Baksa (Erstwhile Barpeta) in Bodoland Territorial Council of Assam, and at the feet of World Heritage Site Manas National Park. It is about 10 kms South from the Indo-Bhutan Border and 25 kms North from No.31 National highway. The College is well connected by public transport. The nearest Railway station Sarupeta is 18 kms, Pathsala is 20 kms and Barpeta is 30 kms away from the College. The very location of Salbari College exists under the Tribal Sub Plan area and is predominantly inhabited by tribal people with a few number of other communities who live with a feeling of brotherhood with all since long.
