DEPARTMENTAL ESTABLISHMENTS

The College has a Principal’s Room, separate Staff Common Room for the teachers, and also Office Room with computers and internet connectivity. The Vice-Principal has his own office for administering academic environment and the Department of Education has its own Psychological Laboratory. The College also has a Computer Laboratory and an Administrative Block.

DIGITAL LIBRARY

The library plays a vital role in a Degree College. The society needs library for acquiring better education, both formal and non-formal. The College has a well stocked library with a large number of books on subjects related to courses taught, in addition to library volumes, ready reference encyclopedia etc. The College subscribes to all major magazines, local and national books and journal and all leading local daily and weekly newspapers. The Library has a separate and spacious Reading Room in which students can put their raw ideas into perspectives, for better learning. The Library has got computer facility and e-library system. The Students are issued library cards for borrowing books subject to library rules. Currently, the College Library is situated with the College main building and going to be shifted in a seperate building for better service to students.

HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

The College presently runs a hostel for Girls’ students only with all facilities within the campus. Great care has been taken to make the hostel a home away from home. Nutritious, hygienically prepared food is served. Admission into hostel is based on merit basis as the seat capacity is limited. The hostel has a capacity of 80 (eighty) borders at present. After getting admission into the College, students willing to avail hostel accommodation may apply to the concerned authority in separate application form available in the office and college website on payment of Rs. 100/- per form. The selected students will have to pay separate admission fee as decided by the Hostel Management Committee. Hostel Borders are expected to be regular in attending class and must maintain a good academic record. They have to follow certain hostel rules, failing which may lead them to be expelled either from the hostel or from the college or from both if the authority feels so.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)

There is one unit of NSS consisting of one hundred student volunteers. There is a proposal for expanding it to more units from the next academic session.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

A wing of National Cadet Corps has been started in the college. Students are expected to join the NCC on voluntary basis.

AUDITORIUM

The College auditorium, with a sitting capacity of 500 students, is used for holding various competitions during the College Youth Festival along with other cultural programmes besides seminars and meetings.

CANTEEN

The College has a well furnished and hygienic canteen for teachers and students in the campus which provides healthy and nutritious food for refreshment. It usually functions from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. in all working days.

COMMON ROOM

The College has provided separate Common Rooms for Teachers, Boys and Girls students. The common rooms are spacious and provided with up-to-date facilities with attached Toilet and running water.

DRINKING WATER

The College has adequate number of water coolers and heaters dispensing pure drinking water to all students, teacher and other staff.

SPORTS FACILITIES

The College has a play ground within the campus which is large enough for all outdoor games and for all athletic events. An Indoor Stadium for holding indoor events has been setup within the College campus. There is a Multi Gym for holding various Gymnasium events in the college.

PARKING SHED

There is an affordable parking shed for cars, bikes, bicycles of College employees within the College campus and for Students outside the campus.

UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY

The College has installed a 30KVA digital generator for uninterrupted power supply funded by UGC and Solar System of 50kw has also been installed.

STUDENT’ UNION

There is a Union body of students namely Salbari College Students’ Union which is committed to maintain healthy academic atmosphere and other student related works. The Union conducts Fresher’s Social to welcome the new comers of the College, hold Annual Youth Festival and celebrates Saraswati Puja and also participate in the various literary, cultural and sports events and activities organized in the College and other Colleges as well.

COMPUTER LABORATORY

The College has developed a computer laboratory with 50 seats at present and a Psychological Lab to provide students with the best exposure and practical training attached to the College main building. Each Lab is furnished with the latest equipment and machinery.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Reserved categories, viz. ST, SC and OBC students are eligible for Govt. of India Scholarships. The admitted students of such categories have to individually apply online at www.scholarships.gov.in as per the deadline to be notified in the National Scholarship Portal and leading News Papers from time to time.
