A college library is a resource hub with books, journals, and digital
media supporting student research and academic study.
About the Knowledge Resource Center
The College library initially started in 1983 in a temporary building and later shifted to present permanent library building in the year 2021. The college library is situated with the college main building and named as the “Knowledge Resource Centre”. It has been imparting education a large no of students hailing from a vast area predominantly inhabited by socially and economically backward segments of the population. There is a medicinal garden in front of the library which is properly maintained to make the library look attractive. Teaching and learning system are supported by library through reading material. Our Library is well equipped with reference books, textbooks, journals periodicals and newspapers etc.
Library is a heart of institution. A library plays a vital role in a Degree College. The society needs library for acquiring better education, both formal and non-formal. The present library building is constructed with the BTC Grant which was sanction in the name of additional class room is shifted for library. The library is housed in a state of art building spread across 4041 Sq meters. The library remains open 9.00 a.m.to 4.00 p.m. on all working days. The total Collections of the library books as on 27th May, 2024 is 15,411 mainly arts Humanities and social science. The library has good collection of Textbooks, Reference Books, Journals, Current Periodicals, Back volumes (Journal), Newspaper, Question Bank, and magazines etc. The Knowledge Resource Centre provides access to N-list (National Library & Information Services infrastructure for scholarly content) e-resource to the teacher and students of the college from INFLIBNET (Information and Library Network) of the UGC.
The library has a separate and spacious reading area in which students providing an atmosphere conducive to readers for better learning. Library is fully automated with the installation of Koha Software and with Digital Library Management system by Installing RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technology. The Library is equipped with the digital Library section to cater the needs of digital resources both online and offline. In view of changing scenario of education system it is planned to improve the infrastructure of the Library every year. The library has got computer facility for internet access. The students are issued library cards for borrowing books subject to library rules.

Library Committee :
The Library committee plays an important role in the proper functioning of the library. The committee is formed according to the procedure of the library rules and is working for the betterment and up gradation of the library in all aspects. Quarterly meetings are held on a number of issues regarding college library and its up-gradation. The main objective of library committee is to decide and adopt policies to govern the management and programme of the library, to prepare the annual budget, rules and regulations of the library. Access :
The Library provides full open access to the readers. Each and every readers of the library can consult their required documents physically without any hindrances. Average number of walk ins per day 180, average number of books issued and returned per day is 30,
Reader’s Services :
Reader’s services aimed at strengthening the Reading Room service that includes reference services. The library remains open from 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m all working days. During examination library remains open from 9.00 am to 4.00 p.m. during vacations from 10.00 A.M. to 4 P.M.
E-Resources :
The Knowledge Resource Centre is a member of N-list (National Library of Information Services infrastructure for scholarly content) funded by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) under its National Mission of Education through ICT. Under this programme all user can provide access to more than 6000+ e-journals and 1,99,500 + ebooks under N-List and 6,00,000 ebooks through NDLI.
Automation :
All the housekeeping operation viz. acquisition, cataloguing, circulation and serial controls are automated using Koha Software ( Cloud Hosting) . LAN (Local area network) has been planned to establish with the server installed in the library.
Library Orientation Programme :
The Knowledge Resource Centre conducts orientation programme to newly enrolled students of the college in order to acquaint them in accessing and use of the library service effectively and systematically. Library orientation programme is conducted every new session and whenever it is required.
